Dragon Gakupo

Finally, after a long time wait, I present Dragon Gakupo!
I have gone through so many poses and designs for this guy...and then I abandoned it for a few weeks. The last few days got be back on track to finish this guy. I did all the coloring in a single<img src="cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/…"> day. I used a new hair coloring technique I found, and I am pretty fond of the result.
Vis-a-vis design, I know that he's missing his sword because it was impossible to incorporate into his current look, so I might re-do him in the future. And the guard on his shoulder is only on his left, but not his right.
As the the white lines in this throat, I made them possible by pressing the paper down with a thin pencil or the flat side of a blade. Like that the color just goes over the little dip in the paper, leaving it white.
The background is totally random, I had no better ideas. So...if you have any hints or tips, I'd love to learn.
